The Joys of Censorship

As any good Yated-head can tell you, the best thing about censorship is that it protects poor impressionable young minds from having to think for themselves.

Take Mark Mathabane's "Kaffir Boy". No, really, you can go to Burlingame, CA and get a copy- the school has over 100 that they took back from the students. Seems a parent complained about a child-rape scene. Never mind that it actually happened and that it uses it to demonstrate a number of powerful points (none of which are pro-butt rape, incidentally). No, heaven forbid. Page 72 must be excised.

Mathabane's used to this by now. Read his eight-year-old response.
